Governor’s Academy Capitol Sendoff Information

Here’s the information regarding the Academy Capitol Sendoff and luncheon as well as the link for the luncheon RSVPs.  Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will “send off” the cadets and midshipmen.  Please disseminate quickly and widely within your respective groups.  

This event is always well attended so timely RSVPs are strongly encouraged.

All Parents Clubs will be responsible for reimbursing WPSA for the meals of their respective cadets/midshipmen.  Within two days following the event, I will provide you with a list of the cadets/midshipmen who RSVP’d for the luncheon and the amount owed to WPSA.  We will appreciate a timely turnaround.  RSVPs are required for the luncheon.  (Parents Clubs may want to collect RSVPs for the Capitol Sendoff but WPSA does not need that number.)   

When:   6 June    11:00 – 11:30 pm @ GA Capitol Building
                             12:30 –  2:30 pm @ Capital City Club

Note:  The times for both events may be changed slightly.  We will advise you of any changes well in advance.
Where:
Sendoff:  Capitol Building – North Wing – Recommend attendees park in the “Capitol Lot Daily,” located at 218 Capitol Avenue.  Attendees should follow signs to “Public Entrance,” cross over to the north wing.  See attached map.

Luncheon:  Capital City Club – 7 John Portman Boulevard NW at Historic Harris Street, Atlanta, GA 30303.  Complimentary valet parking.  RSVPs for luncheon are required.

Cost:   $50 per person and their guests.  Children 12 & under are only $30; free for incoming candidates and current cadets.  Please – no refunds.
